Guys/Girls, brainstorm with me on anything that will take away garlic breath?

I had the badluck of eating a grilled sandwich that had both garlic and onion on the night of my first date with this hot guy.

Now I'm stuck in my bathroom, brushing my teeth and still I don't feel like I have a fresh breath. I'm stressing out, Help!

Guys/Girls, brainstorm with me on anything that will take away garlic breath?
hey,

I know this may sound absurd, but my grandmother believed in old fashioned remedies and this one works!!! trust me. You know when you go to restaurants and they garnish their plates (sometimes) with parsley??? Well some do it for garnish reasons alone, but long ago this tradition started to refresh your breathe after meals. So when you are done eating your meal...crazy as it sounds chew on some parsley and you will have fresh breathe!!!
Reply:grab an apple and some mints! and if you guys go out to dinner try ordering something with garlic in it and then suggests that he tries the same dish (hamburger whatever) with enough onion or garlic on it! and then make a joke about it afterwards. . .
Reply:Chew parsley - you know the herb? It might taste disgusting but it works!
Reply:chew some parsley, it may taste a bit bad but you do have a choice between that or fresh mint leaves. this works, When i was in Cebu Phils, I stayed in a seminary, they do have mint plant and after i smoke, i chew some and rub some in my hands, it works the priest did not notice that i smoke even if i come very near him.

Can puppies eat regular meat?

I have an 8 week old chihuahua and she's eating some dry food. She doesn't really like it when I moisten it, so I have to leave it a bit crunchy which I hope doesn't hurt her teeth.

Anyway, yesterday after I gave her her food bowl, my bf and I were fixing tacos and a small piece of grilled steak fell on the floor. My puppy ate that thing so fast, which kinda made me worry, but at least it was small and didn't have seasoning in it. She really seemed to enjoy it and behaved much happier later, didn't seem to hurt her stomach, and slept more peacefully I noticed (could all that be from one piece of meat?!)

So what I'd like to know is if puppies can eat small portions of regular meat? Is any type of wet food okay (I read that canned wet food is not good, but I'm not familiar with this)?

Thanks for your advice!

Can puppies eat regular meat?
Absolutely puppies can eat meat. I would be disciplined with what you give. The 'dropped' food would be a nice treat. Just be a firm enough owner to not give treats of what your eating or you could create a monster who begs. Be a good pet owner and train your puppy to know who is the alpha dog.

Now on the other hand, you can cook unseasoned ground beef and mix with rice and French cut green beans and feed a small bit to your pup for one of his meals. This quite nutritional and a nice change for your dog. We have a chichuahua as well and he gets 1/4 cut every evening. But morning and afternoon he get 1/2 cup dry dog chow. (Puppy Chow when he was a puppy.) Our vet suggests this mixture for puppies when their moms won't nurse and they need good food early.

(one last thought on the meat being good for puppies....they did not have commercial dog foot a hundred years ago. They didn't even have it when my dad was a kid back in the 30's. They ate the scraps from the family's table. Dogs were not always domesticated. They hunted for food. And I'm pretty certain they didn't hunt for tomatoes and carrots in the garden! If you get my drift!)
Reply:yes its good for them even though its not dog food....its better to feed them regualr food than dog food.........
Reply:puppies really shouldnt be fed people food.. it makes them beg for food and you will never get them to stop....but i think the puppy will be okay after this one time...just dont let him eat it as a normal meal
Reply:Absolutely, puppies can eat meat. Dry food is good for them also. Have you thought about a raw diet?
Reply:Dogs have evolved to eat meat. Once they are off mother's milk they are perfectly suited to eat meat. You should teach your dog to NEVER grab and eat food you have dropped. Your dog should only eat something you gve it permission to eat.
Reply:Yes, they can have meat. I'm not too sure what you mean by "regular". But you can feed them raw meat or cooked meat. I prefer to feed mine cooked, although they do get their share of raw. Crunchy food is good for their teeth. Especially small breeds. They are prone to bad teeth and it helps keep the tartar in control. ☺
Reply:meat as part of your puppies diet is good but not as table scraps. Wet food is good for puppies since puppies eat alot when they are young and need it to grow. But not too much wet food as it can make you dog fat.

Veggies are good also. MOst dogs love veggies and some don't. I would wait on hard veggies until your puppies teeth get stronger to where she eats crunchy dry food with out it being a little moist.

i hope this helps!
Reply:yes your puppy can actually eat regular meat. Beef, chicken and fish are best. i would try to stay away from pork, most dogs have a hard time digesting it expecially if it is fatty.

Yes the little piece of meat can actually change your dogs behaviour to the best. the reasong behind this is because dogs are naturally carnivour. which means they are natural meat eaters. If you keep the meat intake small you shouldnt have any problems with its weight.

hope this helps
Reply:You can get really good dog nutrition info from this website.

www.rawmeatybones.com

Vets are only give about a 30 min. lecture on dog nutrition paid for by the big dog food companies. This means they learn to promote certain brands of kibble... Dogs are carnivores and are very, very close DNA-wise to Wolves... They need a species appropriate diet of raw meat, raw meaty bones, with a small amount of organ meat (liver, kidney, spleen, etc.)

Here are some good sites to get you started.

New Dream Question!?

I think I have an idea of what this is about but here goes...

I'm living somewhere with a bunch of people, like I'm away at college or something. There are a group of boys there that get girls alone somehow and then rape them. I end up witnessing one of these attacks and am so frightened by what I see that I just freeze behind a wall, unable to call for help or try to fight off this predator. I don't seem to have a weapon or phone anyway. The attacker seems to turn into a demon and vampire all at once. He bears his teeth and disappears into the victims neck but only comes out with a smudge of red by his lip, as if he picked a scab on his face and then tried to wipe away the blood. That's all he does. He leaves her there on the floor, hardly worse for the wear physically but I'm sure emotionally she is very damaged. The scene changes and I am in a class where the teacher is asking if anyone knows anything about the attack. For some reason she starts grilling me...

New Dream Question!?
maybe you are feeling somewhat vulnerable in some area of your daily life. This dream arises because in some way you are repressing, in conflict with, or frightened off your own emotions, sexuality or anger. Occasionally the fear is about your own potential or expanded awareness. Also, fears and hurts from your childhood sometimes take this form in a dream.
Reply:In dreams, weather you see yourself or someone else they are about you!So yes I think you are right, you need to do some searching to find what is bothering you.It may be something traumatic that you don't want to remember. You may need counseling to help you. Please seek help soon.Good luck
Reply:If you have experience "being attacked", yes this dream basically reflects on your experience, experience of fear and tormented past. Eventhough you dreamed as witness, you projected the victims as the mirror image of yourself. In other words, you pulled yourself out of the bad experience and tried to relive and this time subconsciously you wanted to be safe so you acted out as witness.
Reply:To see a rape being committed in your dream, denotes sexual dysfunction or uncertainty. To dream that you have been raped suggests a sadistic expression of sexual desire. You may be expressing an unconscience desire to be violated, conquered, or forced into forbidden territory. Some women have a desire to be over powered, but not hurt. It also indicates vengeful feelings towards the opposite sex. It suggests you are being violated in some way. Something or someone is jeopardizing your self esteem and emotional well being. You feel that some one or something is being forced upon you. Dreams of rape are also common for those who were actually raped in their walking life.

Why is it that most men can't?

Why can't most men can't cook in a kitchen but give them a grill and they will cook anything? Why is it most men don't know how to put a roll of toilet paper on the roll (if they get a roll out they put it on the sink or back of the toilet? My husband thinks I'm weird for brushing my teeth in the shower yet he pees in the shower. Yuck

Why is it that most men can't?
Why can't some women stop thinking, looking, percieving everything a man does as negative....

Why do women want to be men so badly that they turn their envy into a negative outlook at what they can never be?

FYI, many women pee in the shower too, and many women can NOT cook [either on the grill or stove]

Try this, why can women change their own oil in their cars? Probable answer is [because they can get someone else to do it for them] same answer applies to putting toilet paper on the roll or putting down a toilet seat.

Get over it....
Reply:ha cuz men are lazy.

i brush my teeth in the shower too...you're not weird.
Reply:because most grills are outside and they will not have to be next to you/women

IT is his only quite time
Reply:Cooking on a grill is seen as masculine thanks to advertising.

Why bother putting a roll of toilet paper on when they know you will come behind them and do it?

As for brushing your teeth in the shower or peeing in it, that is nasty!
Reply:I love cooking in the Kitchen as does Wolfgang Puck, Emeril, and Chef Ramsey... roll of toilet paper is because we are more effecient than women it is much easier to reach and tear when it is on the back of the toilet than when it is on the roll, besides you all use it more than us. As for peeing in the shower... no I cannot say I do this or brush my teeth in it.
Reply:Not sure what type of man you've got, but everytime I read a question like yours, makes me more grateful for the one I have. He cooks, cleans, takes out the trash, helps make the bed, does not look down at me, takes me out on regular dates, buys me flowers and all this for no reason and I don't have to ask him to do any of it. I could go on but I think you've all got the idea that my guy may not be perfect to all, but to me he is. And that's all that counts.
Reply:I must be lucky then cause my huband is a great cook in the kitchen and he puts the toilet paper on the roll cause I am usually the one who doesn't.lol. We always shower together and found it funny when we learned the other has aways peed in the shower.lol. So we just pee together while brushing our teeth in the shower.
Reply:Most men won't do any of those things because they've always had Mommy or Wifey to do it for them.
Reply:I dont know what men you know but the men I know are the best cooks, grill or not, I have yet come across! Dam! I even was considering marrying one cuz he cooked so dam good.LOL

P.S. the pee kills fungis on the feet LOL
Reply:I'm not sure how to answer your questions. My husband and many men I know cook very well in the kitchen. They also put a roll of toilet paper on the roller and it doesn't matter which way it is as long as you can get toilet paper when you need it.

Also most men I know brush their teeth at the sink. I don't know who pees in the shower unless it's an emergency, which I believe everyone is guilty of that one. But then again, I don't ask men if they pee in the shower. My husband does not pee in the shower. Also I think it's weird to brush your teeth in the shower, but I know many people who do this. I think it's gross.

Does anyone know how to get the crackle on roast pork, crunchy. Mine has just turned out rock hard.?

I removed the crackle from the pork and, with sea salt sprinkled on it, cooked it in the convection oven on high. When I noticed some bits that were smaller getting too hard, I put the other piece in the sandwich grill. This worked better but I want it to be crunchy but easy to eat. No broken teeth. The roast by the way is in the slow cooker.

Does anyone know how to get the crackle on roast pork, crunchy. Mine has just turned out rock hard.?
Leave it on the roast and add the salt later (if you must add salt).
Reply:leave it in the oven and keep checking on it,once it reaches that certain stage you like then take it out. hubby makes it all the time.
Reply:drizzle the pork with oil when you first put the pork in.

drizzle again about 1/2 way through cooking.

take the rind off and leave to stand for a few minutes.

if its not crunchy try blanching it in a deep fat fryer after that
Reply:try this: before roasting, boil pork in pot 'til skin is soft enough to be pinched with fingernails. spices maybe added during boiling but no sugars or soy sauce maybe used. cool down with tap water and put inside chiller for 2 hours or in freezer for 45 minutes before roasting. don't employ slow cooking.

What to feed 11month old?

My son is 11 months old (he'll be 1 in 3 weeks). Hes got 7 teeth, %26amp; has been eating baby food %26amp; baby cookies since he was 5 months old. Recently hes gotten to a point where he wont allow anyone to feed him anything, and Im having MAJOR issues with meals for him. He doesnt really 'chew' yet which makes it a little harder to find foods for him.He LOVES fruit and HATES veggies. I've tried giving him ravioli, but he gagged on it. We've tried green beans, potatoes, grilled cheese sandwiches, and quite a few other things. They only thing he'll eat without any trouble is fruit (Gerber fruits, or the DelMonte fruit cocktail), baby cookies(sometimes).

I dont know what else to try! Ive got some carrots cooking right now, hoping he'll eat them.... But, I dont know what else to try....

I'm a 1st time, single mom, with few resources, so I dont have anyone to advise me on these things.Everyone says to feed him what I eat,but hes in daycare all day %26amp; we dont really eat dinner...HELP! Please!

What to feed 11month old?
Scrambled eggs

deli meat diced up

cooked frozen peas

shredded cheese

cheerios

canned fruit, diced

Keep the food the size of his thumbnail. Soft and small.....

Good Luck.
Reply:My baby has gone through the same thing. She is so independent like your child. I just let her eat her food (mushy and all) with her hands and then I would sneak a spoonful of baby food while she is busy looking at her gooey hands. Your baby maybe refusing food cuz he is not hungry or is in a protest mode. Babies will not starve themselves, he will eat when hungry. If he won't eat, please don't give him dessert, otherwise he is not getting the healthy veggies and meats. Chedder cheese and mozzerella are great 1st cheeses. Also, avocado is very good and healthy. This may sound gross, but mix some pureed veggies with her fruits. That worked for me sometimes.

he wont chew? have you tried letting him put the food in his own mouth? and cutting it up- my son jsut turned a year and and only has two teeth, he has been on table food since about 8-9 months
Reply:just keep trying. Going from the Gerber fruits to table food is an adjustment and a different texture. Don't give up or get discouraged. He will get used to it soon and start liking all the different things that he will be able to eat.

On that note... try noodles with tomato sauce and let him feed himself. He will make a mess, so I normally strip my son to his diaper and let him go at it.

Try some cubed cooked potatoes. He should be able to smash that in his mouth also.

Hope that helps some... like I said, just keep trying.
Reply:My daughter ate everything we ate at the age, she loved pasta and veggies mixed together you just have to cook the pasta longer so its really mushy where he can smoosh it around in his mouth, even with veggies cook them long to soften them up. You can even mash them yourself or blend them up like with chicken or hamburger I would chop it up in my blender so it was like baby food but with way more calories. Just give small peices and I always showed my daughter how to chew now she is perfect at it. Um this is what i was feeding my daughter at that age.

Breakfast: Oatmeal mixed with formula and I would buy those organic baby yougarts had the dha in it and mixed that up and would give her toast with butter on top with a banana, eggs with some cheese in them, pancakes, french toast. (Not all at once of course but just ideas)

Snack: some baby puffs, she loved the baby goldfish, yougart

Lunch: Toasted Cheese, Soups, Veggies, Squash, chicken

Dinner: Mac and cheese, chicken, shepards pie, corn chowder, anything we had really. You just have to watch them and keep practicing because the more you try the faster he will get the hang of it. Its so hard to plan meals for babies I liked when I could grab the jar of baby food lol, but my daughter is very picky so I cook like tons of different things before she actually eats. I buy the regular size jar of apple sauce, diced pears and cut them up to real small cubes, bananas cut up, toast cut up real small. Hope that gives you some ideas. Sorry so long.
Reply:i have two babies. if he doesn't want to eat certain foods, then feed him what he likes. you have to find what he likes. forcing him to eat isn't going to solve anything because he just wont eat it. as long as he drinks his milk and gets something into his stomach, hes fine. my 2yr old didn't eat much of anything till he started to self feed. just milk and rice and beans. he would throw any meat or chicken out...etc. follow him and you'll see what he likes. listen to him is my best advice.
Reply:Have you tried a fresh food feeder? My daughter loved this from 6months and it's a great way to introduce new tastes, without the fear of choking. She loved watermelon or orange in it but you can put anything in it - even meat. And might even help to develop the chewing.

http://www.munchkin.com/products/detail....

I'm no expert either (on only worked in childcare) but I have also heard of food phobia's - where children have preference or dislike certain textures of food. If you suspect this may be the case you may need to talk to your doctor. Have you tried dipping the cookies or adding other flavours to the food that he will eat, ie yoghurt or fruit or veg puree - if so will he still eat it?

http://www.sensory-processing-disorder.c...

Otherwise you could try grating up foods first - apple, cheese, carrot and see how he goes - maybe he's afraid of gagging? Some kids also wanted to hold the spoon themselves so they felt like they were in control of doing it (whilst you also feed with a spoon). I've also made some wild kind of mixes of fruit and veges which my daughter loved (try avo and apple or apple sweet potato carrot and corn) My daughter also loves chewing on the cob of corn (I just cut all the kernels off so she doesn't choke and give her the whole cob!) Hope that gives you a few ideas...

What do you think of this poem?

Feverish Winter Hopes

There are trumpeters in the streets

and in the ground

playing melodies about you,

you with eyes like spotlights.

The trees have fingers that reach,

and you have teeth that cling

to words that get hung up

and screams that get absorbed

There are a multitude of us

waiting for the first light flash

of a summer lightening bug

while the smell of a far off grill

is burning.

What do you think of this poem?
This is another winner. The 2008 book comes out on Friday. You need to be in the 2009 edition. Go to poetsofmars (not up yet, but the email works). Send me an email. TD
Reply:The images are crisp and clean, not to mention fun to picture. The only criticism I will lend is that the rhythm lacks, oh, I don't know... Something. Towards the end, it almost has a beat, but the beginning needs some sort of tweak. Great work, though.
Reply:i'm sorry but i don't get what the poem is about.maybe try adding a title?

Also if your comparing someone to an object or other being (kind of like personification).......try not too make it a frequent thing or else it becomes kind of abrupt
Reply:I agree with the last persons answer, but may i suggest that if you use the right amount of syllables and words with a matching tone. It will make the rhythm sound in time and the message comes out easier. nice job by the way, i try to come up with stuff all the time and it sounds like im copying popular songs.
Reply:Quite obviously this is desire for spring written near winter's end, so in that you got that across, the poem has some merit.

I would suggest you put breaks (blank lines) between the three statements that make up the poem, thus creating pauses and perhaps alleviating an earlier posters difficulty in finding the rhythm.

I liked the middle bit the best, and actually found the final five lines to be the most cliche.

Why do vegetarians whine so much?

"You save lives if you become a vegetarian"

Whoop dee do. I'm fully within my rights to eat whatever meat I want. You don't see me telling vegetarians that I think they are morons (although I advise against it), so why do they think they can imply we're murderers? Guess what, most species rely upon preying on other species, does that make them murderers? I'm not torturing the darn things, I'm not into that sorta of thing (for those that are, see "insane"). Oh, and for those that think that the vegetarian lifestyle is killing free: http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/...

Just a little bit of advice, Maddox isn't bs-ing this.

Stop whining and calling us killers, we have the teeth we have for a reason (don't believe me? go ahead and throw out anthropology while you're at it).

I don't care if you want to become a vegetarian, just don't try and make me feel guilty about my diet (cause it won't work)

once again: Why do vegetarians whine so much? (Sweeping Generalization!!!)

Why do vegetarians whine so much?
Most vegetarians who I have met do not seem to want to listen to the fact that physiologically, we are not designed to be vegetarians. I won't go so far as to say that a vegetarian diet decreases intelligence, but I will say that in my experience, most vegetarians do not put forth sound arguments supporting their beliefs. I support their right to believe and eat what they choose, but the rest of us certainly have the same rights.
Reply:because they're hungry!
Reply:Because they are sooooooooooooooooooooo dang hungry!!!

Edit: hehe!! Godess you beat me to it!
Reply:I'm not sure about other vegetarians, but I don't walk up to people and condemn them because they eat meat, this is not right and unhelpful. I am vegetarian because I feel we need to lessen the use of hormones and inhumane raising of the animals. I hope you don't think all vegetarians are like that. Everything must consume something else, whether an animal or not, and if you choose to maintain your diet that way, go right ahead. Just be aware of what we are forcing animals to go through.

I do see how you could get that perception. Here's why:

They are trying to make the world a better place, but are doing so in the worst way possible, by trying to put others down. They feel they are better than others because of what they are doing, and so deceive themselves into believing that all others are 'evil' because they eat meat.
Reply:There are many vegetarians out there. I know many people the are. I don't think that they all view that they are saving lives. Most of them just like eating better and it's there choice. Not all of the vegetarians are talking to you about how bad meat is. Just a few. It's too bad because those that are preaching to you about it are giving all vegetarians a bad name. Vegans are probably the people that are talking to you about it-they don't agree with animals being used for anything. Vegetarians drink milk and eat cheeses and stuff like that.
Reply:%26lt;wyomugs is sweeping the generalization under the rug%26gt;

Frankly, I find that it is only those vegetarians who chose to be vegetarian for some political, moral, or such reason who are the "whiners." They have a point to make, they have an issue to promote... they have an underlying agenda.

Those who chose vegetarianism strictly for health and diet reasons do not whine. They have no bones to pick (PUN INTENDED!) with those who of us who are omnivores.

Have a polite day.
Reply:I have a 14 year old half sister who is a vegetarian. I will admit she doesn't whine but she will talk down on anyone who eats meat.

2 years ago, it was my stepmom's birthday party. The party was at an upscale Chinese restaurant. I wasn't there but her family was including my half sister. The main course was a whole roast duck. My sister made rude comments about it and before anyone could say anything, she abruptly got up from her seat and walked away!

I told my sister that just because she is a vegetarian doesn't mean she has to condemn everyone for eating meat. I told her to realize that when she's a vegetarian, people are going to continue to eat meat and that she'll just have to accept that.

Oh yeah, every time she said I was "cruel to animals," I told her that those vegetables she eats were probably picked by a six year old migrant farm worker who gets paid about $10 a day.
Reply:I agree and see lots of whining here from them. Sort of a look at me, and how special I am. I know one "vegetarian" who lives on carbohydrates and is fat as a pig. I also know some who are just too plain lazy to cook a real meal.

And for the guy whose fiance is a vegetarian, just wait until you are married and see how considerate she is of your wants, desires and lifestyles.

I could care less, but they generally are NOT invited to my dinners, and I don't buy into their arguments, but wish them the best of luck. Hopefully someone will convince them that it is unhealthy for their children.
Reply:Look who's whining now...
Reply:Umm... OK. I was actually going to reply that I am a vegetarian, and I don't whine, but if this was nothing but a joke... well... yeah 2 free points?
Reply:I didn't read your rant beyond "whine", but my fiancee is a vegetarian and I'm sure nothing you say applies to her, especially the whining part. Please stop being a bastard by grouping all people into your predefined stereotypes.

I had an odd dream...dream interpreters, can you help?

I usually don't like to recount my dreams or I can figure them out on my own but last night's dream was puzzling to me...

I was at a huge barbecue cookout and buffalo steaks were being cooked on a huge grill type thing. It seemed there were at least two whole buffalo being cooked and a lot of people there. I am vegetarian (long time) and so is my daughter and husband. I turn to see my daughter eating a little piece of buffalo steak. She says 'It's good.'I knew there was nothing I could eat here and then I saw my father-in-law (who I don't get along with well) and he offered to take me to his house and make me a shrimp po-boy sandwich. That seemed like a good idea (once in a blue moon I will eat shrimp, it is a local delicacy where I live) so off we go to his house. When we get there, there are people waiting for him to pull a tooth. He begins to pull people's teeth with nothing to dull their pain. I see my daughter's cat running around among puddles of blood all over the (continued)

I had an odd dream...dream interpreters, can you help?
you have a fear of becoming non veg and the fact that family may influence non veg on your fam, which is a fear of change and the cat is disobeidience and the fear of that, but seems to me you have an order in your home hence the dusting and cleaning and in the end your daughter will do the right thing so no worries, but i have to ask was there an upset in the order of your home recently or something that just didnt sit well with you before you went to bed?...perhaps that had something to do with the dream as well, a lot of what we see on tv or do before bed has an effect on what we dream at night and people dont realize it but it does, take care.
Reply:Perhaps you are not getting all your necessary amino acids and have become protein deprived so that you dream about protein.
Reply:It is an initiation into occult world or withcraft. Also when you see a a dream where cooking of animals is been done means that lives of people are at stake. And for your father in law to be pulling people's teeth with mercy it means that he has kill alot of people
Reply:even this one is confusing me lol maybe its just saying to stay away from meat
Reply:I think it means you need to convert to Judaism.
Reply:I don't think that it is a dream that has a meaning. Not all dreams have an important message in them. I think this dream is just one of those weird occurrences that happen. Don't worry about it!

Very young stray baby kitten.. what can I do?

Well I went to mom's friend's house, and there are these outdoor 'stray' cats. Then I saw there was one kitten I think only 2 weeks old, eyes wide open, ears up and then TINY baby teeth, which appeared to have come in very recently,. His tongue was kinda sticking out becasue his teeth arent

big yet. He had no siblings and his mom wasn't there often at all, although I gave her the kitten when she came so she could nurse him.

He is so young I had to help him pee, and he was barely walking.. he could walk but not fast or far, and I saw mom cat pick him up by the scruff

So I named him Pablo and I'd like to adopt him. He is currently where I visited him, and he is sleeping under the grill to be protected from the rain.

Can I tamke him to the vets now, can I feed him KMR instead, what is the chance he has Feline Aids or anything like that any signs? , And how old is he really?

Please tell me all of your info and how to raise him. BTW the other strays will get spayed/neutered..

Very young stray baby kitten.. what can I do?
HAHA!! I have been there. A Few years ago I found a kitten stuck in a hole in the wall of an apartment complex. It had blue eyes still, meaning it was still a little blind and it could not walk. She was so small I could hold her in my hand. I took her to the vet that day, so you are safe in doing the same. If the vet feels confident enough, they will give her the tests she needs. FeLV is the most important... But, not to worry, even that can be managed.

My little kitty became epileptic for a time and I had to stop nursing and feed her cheerios.. lol It took some coaxing, but, when she got hungry, she ate. She had problems processing protiens. Eventually, it passed...

If your baby kitty has any special diet needs, the vet will suggest them. There are even special prescription foods for baby cats... On the cheap side, your local PetSmart sells special kitty milk and little bottles. Dont give your kitty the milk we drink. In fact, dont ever give a cat our milk. There are a million reasons why, so just heed my warning.

The best advice I can give you though is just to love it, socialize it and give it a bath! Check for ticks.... Being away from mom, kitty will have different traits... Pablo may bite or scratch more than usual. Just be persistant to keep kitty from doing these things. They learn not to bite from their litter mates.. They play, get bit and realize it hurts.. Same with the scratching. Just be patient and dont yell or physically punish the kitten or it will develop mental disorders much like an abused child!! As funny as that seems, it is the honest truth!

Other than that, just do what comes naturally... Deep down, you know what to do. For all the other things that you dont know, just ask the vet!
Reply:feed it!

good luck!
Reply:Get him inside away from the outside elements ASAP! A kitten that young needs not to be outside. Neither do any other cats for that matter.

Take it to the vet and have a bunch of questions ready for them. Call the vet at least and get some advice on what to feed him. He needs to be inside for sure.

Good luck!
Reply:If the eyes are open the kitten is at least three weeks old. Is it eating cat food? The sooner to the vet the better. He can schedule worming, vaccinations, and spay/neuter when it's time. i think it would be great if you adopted this kitten. He needs to be a warm, dry place where he's safe from predators (hawks, dogs, bigger cats). Bring him home and love him (bring Mom too) ♥
Reply:Normally kittens need to be with their mothers for more than 2 weeks. When you buy a kitten it is usually around 6-8 weeks old. I would probably call the vet and just ask what you should do. I really feel heart broken when an animal such as this gets sick or hurt. I'm not too much help but I'm sure someone else will be.
Reply:You can take it to the vets and they can tell you better the age I would say between 3-4 weeks.

Yes he could have a number of diseases but can't be vaccinated at this time.

If possible take mom to the vets at the same time and they can pretty much do test on her to see if she has anything and if she doesn't good chance kitten doesn't either.

If you can keep the kitten with mom it is the best and at that age mom will start to leave them more. at 4 weeks they can begin being weaned.

if you do take her away from mom for now get a kitten replacement formula and bottle and feed take to the vets for a better idea of age and you might be able to start feeding her kitten chow moistened to a soup Constancy and give that to her.
Reply:Call your vet and see what they say. It can be raised on KMR. They can give you the best advice and work with you to make sure this little guy stays okay. Do you feel there's some danger in letting him stay with his mom? Can you take them both in?? Moms carry their babies this way. It is totally natural. If she's nursing him, leave her some good food, maybe make his house a little better protected if at all possible. She will stay where she can get food. And at this age, the mom leaves the kitten quite a bit. They don't think anything of it, it's just normal stuff to them.
Reply:the kitten is at least 3 weeks old since its eyes were open. An FEED it right away, take it to the vet is an excellent idea, get the shots he can get, and take him inside after ther vet. since they were strays, you dont need to ADOPT persay. but, you might want to get a chip in him so that he can be yours. The vet will tell you all you need to know and like what type of food he can have right now. Good Luck!
Reply:i have adopted around 2 weekold abandoned stray kittens before..and let me tell you..you need to be commited to it..as it requires much attention. my cats turned out healthy and well raised by the powder kitten milk sold at the pet stores. also the temperature of the milk is very important. you should look into that on the web. be sure to not choke the kitten with too much milk. after feeding it with milk, be sure to rub the back..so it burps. you should keep the cat in a box with towels or blankets..and you are going to have to wash it and clean it everyday because it is too young to teach litter box to. lots discharge from the eye, as well as blood in pee or stool is an important thing to look out for. you should take him to the vet for consultation and the vet would be able to tell approx. age for the kitten..and when it is old enough, you can get any treatment for fleas, vaccines it needs. good luck!
Reply:hes probably around 2-3 weeks old. he will still need a bottle of kmr or mom. If you want to tame him, i would recommend taking him in... that way he becomes use to human contact before he learns to fear humans. yes you should take him to the vet just to make sure he is hydrated, flee free and healthy. the vet should also teach you how to care for the kitten... here is a great website for the care of unweaned kittens

http://www.kittenrescue.org/handbook.htm

best of luck!!!!
Reply:You've gotten some very good advice here, especially from Micheal D.

You don't really need me to tell you what to do. Between the advice here and what you will hear when you call a vet (which you should do), you'll know.

As far as Feline AIDS or Leukemia, you will get him tested for that, along with everything else he needs, when/if you take him to the vet. There aren't really any signs for you to look for in such a little kitten. Either way, he'll be fine.

You know, I often worry when I hear about kids adopting kittens, but I'm not worried about you. You sound very intelligent and on top of the situation. I'm impressed. I've rescued and fostered a lot of kittens and adopted a few, so I know. You're doing it right so far. Keep it up and have fun.
Reply:I think it is a good idea to first get him inside and then feed him. You should take him to the vets soon to make sure all is good. The kitten is like a baby and needs to be protected. Go get it and be its new mom. Good Luck!

Is it just me or are min. wage low paying (usually food service) jobs more open to the idea.....?

Is it just me or are these places more open to the idea of an employer who has a criminal past than other jobs. If so why?

I'm asking because in all my years of applying to mostly food service or retail min. wage work, they always have a question about if you commited a felony or some other crime and in fine print, it says something about it won't affect your employment. And when I did work at a bar I knew a guy who had a criminal background, a woman who didn't have any teeth (apparently due to secret drug use, a woman who knew her told me), and a girl who was 18, no hs diploma or GED, and a rude attitude and someone told me she was kicked out for fighting. I did work at a bar and grill, lol. And they definitely put the bar in bar and grill (it was in a hotel and a bit seedy). And I know a guy who apparently works at a fast food resturant a couple of hours away and it allegedly hired criminals who were rapists, murders, etc. I don't know if that was true or not though, lol.

Is it just me or are min. wage low paying (usually food service) jobs more open to the idea.....?
I think a lot of minimum wage jobs just want bodies-- they aren't expecting people to make a career out of it, they know you don't have to be highly qualified to make a sandwich. So, I think those jobs just care a lot less about who they're hiring. Plus, there is less of a demand for those jobs because a) for the most part, they are no fun to work and b) there are more of them for people to choose from than some very highly qualified niche job category. So they can't really be as choosey.
Reply:Yea......Im wondering the same thing....your essay is tooooooooo long
Reply:Let me finish eating and I'll answer this question for u.

Okay

Part of their earnings may come from governmental financing. I'll employ so many criminals if you give me so many tax dollars. It allows some criminals to advance in our society. It also abets the recidivism of the rest of the criminals. I think a better system is called for as a lot more criminals fail to reenter society successfully as those that do. I think it should be the other way around. Don't you?
Reply:many higher paying industrial jobs are the same way when it comes to hiring as food service jobs..infact if you research it , all companies, even white collar jobs hire many criminals ( but criminals with some education proof ) ..

It is actually illegal if they hold certain crimes against them in the consideration of employment..it is a federal law..

the only way a crime can count against them is if it has to do with abuse, neglect, or sexual crimes in the health care fields..

drug charges in pharmaceuticals, and embezelment in the corporate areas..

there is a fine line in what they can use to reject you as a candidate for the job..

kind of scary, I know..
Reply:huh?

Reply:I saw a woman with small diamonds in the centers of her lateral incisors. They look classy when they're in that way, otherwise I don't condone them.

What is the worse form of jealousy you've ever seen ?

I had a Laos friend in high school and she was already Married at 14 years old and her husband wouldnt let her brush her teeth !! Like so nobody would kiss her .

She had fish and veggies all up in her grill ! I felt soo bad for her .

Whats the worst form of jealousy you've seen ?

What is the worse form of jealousy you've ever seen ?
Wow that's terrible.

My boyfriend's ex was the WORSE!

He was not allowed to have any female friends, but it get's much worse.

He was a manager at a movie theatre and this b*tch would have her little sister some spy on him. Since he was a manager, people often asked him for help. When a female co-worked apporached him to ask him for help starting a movie the little sister called his gf and told her about it. The gf then started screaming at him saying he was cheating on her for TALKING to another girl!

Crazy! She wouldn't let him call his grandma "pretty" and she yelled at an old waitress [probably in her 60's] for saying "What can I get for you hun?" to him. She said no one can call him hun but her. She was rediculous.

One more story, on Holloween the gf insisted on coming to work with him and staying with him for his entire shift. Her reasoning was "Not alot of people see movies on Halloween, so it will be slow. That will give him more time to go and flirt and cheat with the female co-workers".

Gah I can't stand this psycho! Do you guys agree?
Reply:I know! She was INSANE! Thank you for choosing my answer. Report It

Reply:one of my boyfriend's older sisters said I was stealing him from her....how fricking weirdly jealous is that!
Reply:That's just completely insane and definitely proves that people should not get married until they are much older - it's also abusive! I'm an extremely jealous person - and I drive my husband crazy - but I'm not that bad!
Reply:Recently in the news, there was an article of a man who found out his wife was cheating on him. So he killed both the wife and her boyfriend, then cooked his wife and starte to eat her. F****ng gross! He was a jealous mofo.
Reply:Cat fight over a guy. Not me, but at a bar one time. It was awesomely funny to watch. LMAO

Foods/Snacks for 14 month old twins :)?

I have 14 month old twin girls. They are getting bored with the typical foods so I was hoping I could get some new ideas. Here's what they typically eat.

Breakfast:

French Toast Sticks, Eggs, Toast, Bananas, Pancakes, Waffles, Cinnamon Toast

Snack:

Cereal, Bananas, Pudding, Jello, Goldfish, Crackers

Lunch/Dinner:

Chicken Nuggets, Fish sticks, PB%26amp;J, Grilled Cheese, Spaghetti, Ravioli, Vienna Sausage, Mac%26amp; Cheese, Corn, Peas, Green Beans, Carrots

I'm terrified of them choking so, I haven't really ventured away from what I've been feeding them.

1 of them has 8 teeth + a molar....The other only has her 2 bottom teeth....

I would appreciate any ideas! Thank you all in advance!

Foods/Snacks for 14 month old twins :)?
Try feeding them what you eat. By exposing them to more "grown-up" food now, you will have less chance of having picky eaters down the road. Obviously, you have to exclude steak and other choking hazards, but other meats are fine as long as the pieces are small enough.

My son would just sit on my lap and eat off my plate when we were having dinner. He would eat wild salmon, pork tenderloin, pasta with fresh pesto sauce, tomatoes, quinoa, mushrooms, baby green salad, asparagus, and now at the age of five, he still eats a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, and other healthy foods. He doesn't really care for much "kid food" at all, other than hot dogs.

Definitely start feeding them yogurt (yo can try the YoBaby organic drinks--my son loved those), and introduce as many different vegetables and fruits as you can. If they don't eat them the first time, just keep offering them.
Reply:Snacks:

Cheese

Apple sauce

Soft cookies or arrowroot cookies

Banana cut up
Reply:Cereal bars, fruit salads, and yogurts as well as yogos are great snacks at this age and the foods you have chosen are good just change a few add ham to a grilled cheese or just a simple pasta change from elbows to ziti causes the bordem to go away.
Reply:maybe corn and peas are a lit bit too early for them..because they are little pieces and it might coz choking but the rest it are ok..because they get tried eating that baby food..plus they have teeth they want to chew.

mother of 1 year old
Reply:At this age they can eat just about anything that you do, just cut the food into small portions and let them get on with it, they can chew well with or without teeth.Obviously you will be supervising their meals at this age.My children all ate a wide variety of fruit at this age,the only thing I avoided was whole grapes.
Reply:Gerber has a snack called puffs they come in different flavors, my Great Grandson loves them.
Reply:menu seems fine. but as a twin I must advocate giving them different meals as much as possible, even at an early age it helps each twin form an independent identity.

When you go out to eat does your servers appearance matter to you?

I work in a restaurant, its not classy or formal just a bar and grill-- Personally, i would never go to work looking like i just woke up, but some people do. However my question is really regarding the fact that they just hired a girl that looks like shes done meth the past couple months. Her teeth are green or missing, hair always a mess, eyes sunken in and its just not attractive. If you went out- how much does appearance matter, would you tip less? or more so she could go brush her teeth?

or if the looked like they just woke up- does that matter??

Thanks for you input!!!!

When you go out to eat does your servers appearance matter to you?
I would much rather my food be served by someone that is clean, and well groomed. I would not like the green teeth part.
Reply:I would be afraid to eat my food after seeing an unpleasant looking server. I don't think that I would tip them more or less due to their looks, but I would re-think going back to that restaurant or bar. This is a job, and the server should look like they care and want the job.
Reply:well if my server makes a bad impression on me im gonna feel like my order is messed up
Reply:I know that this sounds judgmental but if I see someone like that cooking my food or serving my food I have been known to cancel an order. Water and soap are cheap and so are toothpaste/brush. One time we were traveling and I was at a waffle house, this guy that was cooking our breakfast had more underneath his fingernails than the grill had. I cancelled our order and left. It's gross.
Reply:Yes, it matters a lot and all the reasons above me are good and what I also believe.
Reply:it matters a lot, it's not case of how much I tip, I just wouldn't go back to the restaurant if your description is accurate
Reply:Personal apperance does matter to me especially if it is dealing with food. If she doesn't brush her teeth she doesn't wash those hands either. I would leave so a tip is not in question.
Reply:I'd most definitely like to be serve by somebody that is clean, and well groomed. And I don't think I would like green teeth...
Reply:as long as her hands are clean, I am not going to be kissing her......and hopefully her breath doesn't stink!
Reply:I'd be very worried about eating in a restaurant that hired staff that looked like that. If they don't care what their servers look like,( the people who are the FACE of the restaurant after all) then I dread to think whats going on in the kitchen and the other parts of the restaurant that I can't see.
Reply:I not only care about how they look, I care about the cleanness of the restaurant itself...You can go to the Internet and find out which restaurants in your town have failed or passed inspection...I found our favorite Chinese Resturant had failed inspection several times in a row. Good to know...we found another place.
Reply:absolutely!! The waitstaff's appearance is very important. I don't want someone touching my food with dirty fingernails or nasty hair. As far as her teeth, yes they should be brushed and someone should tell her... nicely though.

You know if she was a drug addict, maybe now she is trying to better herself......??? Still shouldn't put the rest of us at risk for diseases. If i was truely repulsed, I would ask for a new server.
Reply:i don't care as long as they provide good service and look presentable
Reply:Yes it does! Why would anyone want someone handling food if they dont look clean? If she looks that bad, she probably is unclean. I probably wouldnt eat in her section.
Reply:Yes, their appearance matters a great deal to me. And if they had green teeth, trust me, I would get up and leave the place immediately. Anyone serving food should always look immaculate!
Reply:appearance does matter. Im pretty sure I would not order in the first place and leave I have done it before and to never go back
Reply:i think appearance matters on any customer service job especially food because i would personally lose my appetite if something gross looking came to serve me.
Reply:The server's appearance does make an impression on me -- although if he or she looks pretty ordinary that impression is probably largely subliminal.

I would not like to be served by someone who looks like the person you describe!
Reply:Appearance counts with me, too. She sounds like a meth abuser or someone who is sick or anorexic. Even if she is homeless, she could brush her teeth in their restroom. I'd talk to the manager.

If it were just missing teeth, that wouldn't matter. My tip would be the same.

Is this okay to feed my son?

My son is 9 months and he has one tooth thats coming in. Anyways he doesn't like baby cereal or baby food. I feed him grilled cheese sandwiches i only make a half one for him and I cut it up in really small pieces and he loves it. I also gave him pasta yesterday. he loved it. I put it on his hi chair tray. and he picked it up. Is it okay if i feed my son this stuff and also what else can I feed him? Remember he doesn't really have any teeth yet. I can barly see his tooth comming in.

Is this okay to feed my son?
There is some nutritional value to grilled cheese sandwiches! You are getting two of the main food groups from this, which is more than a lot of cereals. Make sure you use whole grain breads and real cheese though, processed is bad. What about mashed potatoes and cream corn?
Reply:If baby likes it and seems happy, grilled cheese and pasta isn't the worst thing you could do. But be very careful to introduce other foods too. Avocados are a favorite and banana too. Don't do all cheese and breads, or you'll be sorry later.
Reply:They make lots of "dissolves easy" things for children his age. Check out the baby food area at your grocery store. Me personally, if its soft enough for him to eat and he seems to handle it just fine, then go for it. Just keep an eye on him at all times while he's eating (in case he chokes).

Other than that, remember that grilled cheese and pasta aren't the healthiest thing he could be eating. Its OK for a lunch of something, but not for every meal (in my opinion). Try green beans, bananas, peaches.... things like that, so that he gets some nutritional stuff too.
Reply:sure, just watch him as he's eating. I feed my kids real foods at that age!
Reply:Yeah it is ok to feed him that kind of stuff, as long as you cut things up really good and give him little portions at a time, especially with the grilled cheese. Pasta and spaghetti is fine, bananas and cheese is good too. If he likes grilled cheese try giving him bread with cheese whiz on it with no crust.
Reply:That's fine! And grilled cheese has lots of awesome calcium too!

By about 10 months my son was on table food completely...he never cared for baby foods. He ate what we ate (except for spicy things) diced, mashed, or shredded. Regardless of teeth, as long as it is small enough/soft enough to be gummed up then let him have it. Just remember to be careful about things containing allergens like peanuts.
Reply:Kudos for feeding your child real food! Too many people feed their children what I call "glue" - rice cereal. Ugh! Little nutritional value, no taste, and no point. Dehydrated, flaked white rice? Really! And "baby food" in jars bears little resemblance to the real thing in flavor or texture. I don't blame him for not liking it.

Any food that is soft will work well. Bananas were my children's first foods. Potatoes, yams (just bake or boil them - no sugary goo), peas are all good. They may need to be mashed with a fork a bit, but he would probably enjoy them. Avoid the more acidic fruits until he's older. Babies of my aquaintance don't seem to be able to handle them well until they're closer to 2 years.
Reply:I think this is just fine! My son is 7 months, and he eats small pieces of toast, and crackers. He loves the baby goldfish crackers! He also eats soup very well, he was eating campbells chicken and stars soup....perfect for his little self! One difference between our two little ones is that my son already has 4 teeth (two on top, and two on bottom). I would say just to use YOUR best judgement, and of course, always keep a watchful eye out for him!
Reply:There really is no nutritional value in Grilled cheese sandwhiches, If he's fussy and doesnt want baby food, or cereal try giving him something like soup, at lest it would have soft veggies in it which would provide some nutrients.

By the way, are you using real cheese or processed cheese? because processed cheese is even worse.

Its fine to give solids, as long as its in a form he wont choke on, cut stuff up really good... just try to provide some nutritious stuff.

Have you ever had a really bad fast food experience?

I was like 17 and my friends and I were drunk so we went to McDonalds for some late night munchies and I got a grilled chicken sandwich. At night your food is made to order and grilled chicken takes like 8 minutes to cook. I got my food and didn't even check it out before I took a bite of it and I wish I would've. The chicken was halfway uncooked and raw on the inside. I puked for about 15 minutes then brushed my teeth and used mouthwash for about a half hour. I haven't eaten grilled chicken there ever again.

The worst thing was, I worked at that McDonalds when that happened. I told my boss about it and she ending up firing the guy who did it. He was really nice, just really really slow.

Have you ever had a really bad fast food experience?
yuck one time i got food poisining from taco bell....on my birthday
Reply:i found a hair in my gravy once
Reply:interesting... since everything but the hamburger patties at McDonald's is pre cooked
Reply:I once went to McDonalds and discovered that my entire burger was green. It was so disgusting.
Reply:blahhhhh i found hair in my salad at Mcdonalds once. sometimes fast food just grosses me out
Reply:I got some chik-n bites from Krystal (like White Castle's up there)...and they were raw in the middle. The sad part is that it took me like 10 minutes to get my food, and the whole order was wrong except the chik-n bites, so I took a bite, and it was just nasty........ There's probably nothing worse than raw chicken...
Reply:20 years ago i had a mild case of food poisoning from a big mac and will never ate in a fast food restaurant again, i only eat hamburgs that i cook myself and only buy fresh ground beef, no frozen patties from processing plants as many have had recalls for ecoli bacteria. i will eat steak or chops in a restaurant as ecoli will not grow on un ground meat. i know of what i speak as i was a meat cutter for 20 years and owned a restaurant for another 20.
Reply:Not quite. I did have a similar situation though, I may have told you about it already.

I was at a Texas Roadhouse, and I got a grilled chicken salad. I took some bites, and I too noticed the chicken was raw. I had already had about 2 top shelf coconut margaritas by that point, and I ordered another, then told the girl my food was raw. She brought me a new salad and comp'ed my margaritas and brought my dad a beer....that he didnt drink so I did.

It worked out for the best for me, and I didnt get food poisoning!

Can white people?

wear gold in their teeth like the black people do?

seriously, can they have a grill

Can white people?
It looks ridiculous no matter what color your skin is.

However, since you're seriously asking this, I don't think white people can pull it off as well as African-American people. But if you have the guts to try it, go ahead.
Reply:they can but we all look stupid doing it.

Oh my! How the hell did this happen?!!?

My son never was breastfed, he drank only pumped breastmilk in bottles (evil, evil EVIL gerber bottles) for over a year. Oh, my...but he has perfect teeth and a beautiful white smile. Did the breast fairy accidently bless my bottlefed child with good jaw and tooth structure and slight some poor breastfed somewhere? I mean, I read up here from all the saintly breastfeeding mothers that my kid should look like Billy Bob in the grill area by now. (Age 6).

How did my boy get perfect teeth?? Oh, don't tell me...they'll Billy Bob later...right? Overnight on his ninth birthday or just before college, right?

Oh my! How the hell did this happen?!!?
Yeah. Something went wrong and I never got breastmilk (or colostrum). Double D's and they are useless. Go figure.

Anyway, people talk about all the problems formula fed babies will have. My son slept through the night since he was about a month old and never got so much as a runny nose until he was over a year old.

I know, we're evil moms.
Reply:WTH is your problem? The poor kid.
Reply:Good genes
Reply:It's just another one of those wive's tales so that you won't have a 6 year old with a bottle going to preschool.
Reply:Ithey are that perfect now they will probably stay that way. Consider yourself blessed.
Reply:HAHAH. those other moms just like to think that they know everything. i bottle feed my twins. they're perfectly happy and handsome.
Reply:whats the fu*k u talkin bout.
Reply:Good teeth can be hereditary. Your soncould've picked up a dominant or recessive trait from someone in your family. It does not always have to do with how you were fed as a baby
Reply:Just make sure you take away his pacifier before too long, otherwise he will get front teeth that grow straight out!
Reply:Why are you drilling into the topic? Be happy for you son.
Reply:somehow your kid got good teeth just give him up for adoption to a family that will love those pearly whites
Reply:Bottle feeding damages the teeth when the baby is left with a bottle propped in its mouth all the time. Genetics also help.
Reply:thats funny!! just count your lucky stars!!
Reply:Hello?!! Breast Milk! nuff said!
Reply:Why are u worried. They are perfect, just take care of them.
Reply:Sounds like you didn't want to hold the little fellow close to you.

Why are you on a rant?

lcm
Reply:yeah, a saintly breastfeeding mother here ( I will never have regrets on breastfeeding a very premature baby, sorry). anyway.. i'll state the obvious and say that no one ever said that "all" bottlefed kids will have bad teeth, but do some do because of it? SURE. I think pacifiers are often to blame too. why get sarcastic and nasty , when you KNOW that reasonable people do not think that way??? wait wait, maybe YOU'RE not reasonable!
Reply:I don't know who these people were that told you that but as you can see, it's simply not true.

Personally, I've never heard that but I don't live wherever you do I guess.

I think you're venting your anger at the wrong people though, or was it someone on the internet who gave you such bad information?
Reply:Hun if he chewed a lot of stuff or/and sucked on things a lot then yes he MAY get bigger sized teeth but as long as he brushes flosses and uses mouth wash he will be just fine!!!!
Reply:I think you are supposed to be happy that he has perfect teeth. Make sure that he takes good care of them . This is going to save you tons of money ! Now you do not have to pay for braces.
Reply:Why are you being so defensive. If you think you did the right thing it's nobody's business.......you're the mother you make the decisions.
Reply:i have three sons all were formula fed and the doctors and dentists say they have the cleanest healthyest teeth theyve seen for a while!! (all any of them have ever had are cleanings and look at's)theyve never needed anything more!!

It comes from proper nutrition and proper oral hygine!!!

I was breastfeed and when i turned 14 my teeth began rotting out!! even thou i brushed my teeth. (the dentist "cleaned" my teeth of all the enamal, causing them to be pron to decay up till then i had perfect teeth other than them being BIG) (bad dentist)

it has nothing to do with breast milk (thats a myth in my book) it has to do with GOOD dentists care and proper oral hygine!
Reply:Whoa - let's just calm down a tetch. You DID breast-feed, you just didn't use your boob directly. There are a lot of moms who do this for many reasons. There is no data to support the Boob Nazi's claims that bottles are evil. The people on here are just ignorant because they believe everything they're told. I'm having a tough time dealing with the sheep and moron brigade here myself, so I understand your frustration. I'm glad your little guy has a nice smile - I'm sure it keeps him out of a lot of trouble. Now it's your turn to smile, grit your own pearly whites (he gets them from good genes, not from how he was nourished as an infant, but just try to change a mind here and you'll end up banging your head against the wall) and think "What a bunch of complete idiots" to yourself when you read something stupid on here. I'm learning how to do that myself...

Good luck!
Reply:Honey..you poor thing you! When you get so many opinions and answers, don't you know by now you need to filter them out. Quit believing so much craziness! It's obviously making you crazy! I have breastfed 2 of mine and bottle-fed the other 2. All of them have perfect teeth. No pacifiers!!!! Be blessed. He has the teeth that God wants him to have. Not everyone is blessed with that! And be nice to others! Don't be so mean and hateful with innocent people who are just giving "opinions".
Reply:When I was delivering my first the nurse asked me if I planned to breatfeed and I said no. She went through her speach, and told me all the pros and cons. Then a few minutes later she was telling me what a hard time she was having with her daughter because she has really bad allergies. To wheat, milk, on and on and on. Then I asked her,"She was breastfed right?" She got the point and left me alone. My kids are beautiful, SMART(because you know bottle fed babies are stupid) little girls.
Reply:you know what is worse than people who push breast feeding? People like you. I have never heard of a bottle ruining teeth.(rotting yes if you put them to bed with a bottle due to sweetness of milk but that can go for breast milk too) Thumb sucking yes...bottle no. You need help to deal with your anger issues. Do you feel inadequate that you couldn't breastfeed only express and use a bottle ( which by the way good for you for doing this I don't think i could do it for that long) because this is how you come across.

Do you think this job is cool?

I work at a Grill shop, or what other people call is a "Gold Teeth shop.

It's mostly a hip-hop store, but I am mostly a rock music listener so I basically don't go with the people I work with

Some people may think this job is cool, but others aren't. What are some tips or advice that you have to make my job better before.

I normally don't think this job is for me. I'll rather work at best buy or some other store

Do you think this job is cool?
No, I don't think your job is cool. Actually, I think it sucks.
Reply:Your job is suitable for part time job only. If you cant find any other job try this: Work at home after your working hours or during weekend. Go for the internet business, which requires less of your time and the one that will not make you feel headache with web designing, or which require IT knowledge. Second, choose the internet based company which offer you the opportunity and at the same time giving you the convenience to start the business. Third, choose the business, which does not require big money to start it.

This is going to come across as screwed up.....?

before I say it. Im not predjusdice against race or size. I am in an interaccial marraiage. And Im not speaking about ALL,just a large quantity,at least around here. So often black people and overweight people refuse to move over so others can pass. They will stand and block the path. And fat people,by this I dont mean just overweight,I mean obese people(of all races) seem to let off that because they take up the aisle, they own it. They also refuse to move. Even after you say "excuse me" as though us non -black,non - obese people owe them something. And when a person of color is crossing the street, they shuffle their feet across at a crazy slow pace. This happened three times just today alone. I had a green light and had to wait,I almost knocked one guy over bc he went the slowest and "grilled" me. Whats up with this? As though some brass teeth are going to intimidate me.

This is going to come across as screwed up.....?
It actually happens with anyone who just doesn't want to be considerate, it's not just an obese thing or black thing. It's like putting up the middle fingure, ignore people like that.

My 1 1/2yr old son is a picky eater!!!?

He got his teeth late- only about 3 months ago and will only eat grilled cheese, mac and cheese, fruits and yogurt. He hates all veggies, meat, potatoes/rice/beans, he won't even eat cherrios. Some days he will eat pasta with spag. sauce. I have introduced and reintroduced a zillion times and he will not try anything new. I have tried mixing veggies in his mac and cheese andhe picks them out, if I mash them in he won't eat it at all. What to do?

My 1 1/2yr old son is a picky eater!!!?
Patience and keep trying to introduce new foods.

Our (now 5yo) is also a picky eater. But what he eats has changed over time. As an example, at age 1.5, I could take him to McDonald's for a hamburger. By age 3, he wouldn't touch a hamburger. By age 5, he was back to eating hamburger. It took trying from age 3 to age 5 before he would each a Chik-Fil-a chicken nugget. Hot Dogs were his protein mainstay from age 1 to age 4. Now at age 5, he won't touch them.

So just keep trying, things will change over time.
Reply:I don't have children, but I think that the best thing for you to do is to start offering alternatives, and to NOT always offer those bad foods like mac and cheese. Sounds like he's formed a dependence around them, but he will eat other foods if he is hungry.

ok ok i retract my statement! sorry for the bad advice ... good luck with your son :)
Reply:calm down he will be fine! My 10 year old has always been picky... went through a stage where all he would eat was chicken nuggets. He still hates all cheese, most vegetables, and all fruits except green apples with absolutely no marks on them. He is healthy and growing right on track. I do get him to try new foods about once a week.... if he tries it he gets a prize (special dessert or something). If he doesn't like it he's allowed to spit it out in the garbage. I don't force him to eat anything. He takes flinstone vitamins... they make some for 2 and 3 year olds as long as its ok with your pediatrician at that age. Keep trying and you will find some things that he will eat and believe me... he will be fine!! You never know he could decide tomorrow that he only loves vegetables!
Reply:Don't worry too much about it. My daughter is 14 months and quite picky too. It doesn't help that she's on the slim side. Sometimes I panic when she refuses everything.

Like your child, she will eat mac and cheese until the cows come home. I only give it to her about once or twice a week when I can't get her to eat anything else because I don't want it to be an option too often. She will eat the peas I mix in, but the truth is, I can't really put in enough peas to make a nutritional difference, anyway.

I try not to worry too much about all of this because I know it's very typical. I understand how you feel, though.

One cute thing--even though my daughter is picky, she wants to please me and tries to agree with me. I will tell her something is yummy, MMMMMMM! and she will take a bite and say MMMMMMMMMM, then spit it all over her bib. She will even take several bites in a row, saying MMMMMM every time, then spitting it right back out. Then if I say, "You don't like it?" She will shake her head no really fast. SOOOOOOO cute.

Good luck!
Reply:I wouldn't stress over it either.

Try very small portions when introducing something new.

A lot of foods, especially the ones with nutritional value, are an aquired taste.
Reply:I wouldn't worry too much. My 18 month old sounds almost exactly like yours. I would just keep trying to introduce new foods to him. From everything I read, this is a normal stage for them at this age. I think it's more important to keep trying and not make food a horrible issue. My little one won't touch anything that's green yet, but we keep trying. Don't punish him for not liking the taste of something, I wouldn't appreciate someone making me eat brussel sprouts.
