If I was in LA, with my baggy jeans and bling bling and grill on my teeth and a gun and knock out/down anything on my sight or see against me I would be labeled as a gang, or a thug. BUT HERE IN IRAQ, we still wear our baggy jeans, but this time it is an Army uniform but still baggy, carry a gun, kick doors and do whatever I feel like it, because I am in a "threat position/zone", but now I AM A PATRIOT, AN AMERICAN SOLDIER!... Don't get me wrong, I LOVE MY COUNTRY!
YOU foreigners DO NOT MESS WITH ME/US/U.S/
A Gang/thug or a patriot defeding his country's freedom?
What unit are you in?
I kind of have my doubts you are for real is all.
you are Somali, right? I looked at your blog.
Reply:First of all thank you for putting your life on the line for our freedom. God bless you.
As for the question, i think a little bit of both. Your motivation is good. The guy who sent you and others there is wrong. I pray you make it back home safe. Take care buddy.
Reply:This is an question of interest to me. I've often pondered the same thing.
For example, if someone were to kill my brother and I retaliate, I would be labeled as a thug/gangster.
But if the president retaliates for the death of people he doesn't even know, by killing millions, he's a hero/doer of justice.
While the person I retaliate for is someone I loved, I'm condemned. And while the president takes the lives of innocent people, he's exalted.
The answer is prejudice and double standards. We are the scum of the earth in the eyes of its inhabitants. Whatever we do is bad, but others who do the same are guilt less. You never see a person meet an intelligent black person and say blacks are smart. But they'll see a poor black and say blacks are thugs and leeches. That is just the way of the world.
