I have a couple on the same subject PLEASE read the whole thing?

My son is wanting a grill (the teeth grillz that is)before school starts. I offered to look into it but really don't know of any health risk it could cause. He is a clean boy brushes his teeth regular but will it cause his teeth to rot having something over them all day?

Question two is it safe to eat with the grill in I don't want to spend the money for him to take it out to eat and lose it or it get stolen?

And last but not least should it be stainless steel or sterling silver which is more durable?

Thank you ahead of time.

No grills. That simple. They are bad for your gums and they WILL cause cavities in his otherwise clean teeth. Don't do it.
Reply:what in the world is a grill for your teeth?
Reply:You ARE kidding right?

I say, when he gets ajob and is on his own, he can get his own

"GRILL". This IMO is not a great idea....Be a mom, not a friend.
Reply:My parents should be thankful that all I did was dye my hair different colors all the time.

You'll spend a bunch of money on it and he'll realize what a pain it is to have in all the time and he won't wear it at all in a couple months.

Plus it looks f-ing retarded.
Reply:I don't have a clue as to what a "Grill" is but that money even if its only $1 buck should be in his college fund. After college and a good paying job he can get his own "Grill"
Reply:So the deal is that as long as nothing is underneath the grill his teeth should be safe. Once a chunk of say, jujyfruit, gets under there the bacteria will be free to do their thing uninterrupted.

Forgive me for sounding a little judgemental, but what about having him earn it through a summer job if that's what he really wants.

Also I think it would look a little...whats the word I'm looking for...dumb. Unless he lives in an urban area where all the kids have them it might be wise to opt for a new pair of Etnies instead.
Reply:you have got to be joking. that is rediculous. my son is 17. he doesn't need to get that cought up in the hype of the hip hop styles. he picks out his own clothes, which are on the baggy side, but not over done, he listens to his music, not to offensive, he doesnt' wear all the funky jewelery and that. i wouldnt' buy him that stuff even if he wanted it. i try to help him to become himself and to learn his individuality at the same time. i think that is to much to even consider for a kid. and to contimplate it.......is over the top. saying no won't cause him any trauma. and giving my honest opinion (what you asked for) is not being mean or anything. i think that is over the top and to much. he doesnt' need it.
